2020 XPECORE Sports Bodywork Mentorship
Tony Villani, MS, founder of XPE Sports, and George Kousaleos, LMT, founder of CORE Institute, have joined forces to create an elite mentorship program for those interested in learning effective sports & performance bodywork. Starting on January 5, 2020, the first of 7 week-long mentorships for advanced training in CORE Sports & Performance Bodywork and Functional Stretch Therapy (48 CEs) will take place at XPE Sports in Boca Raton and Ft Lauderdale, FL.
The clinical focus of this unique educational program will be on providing manual and stretch therapy services for the football athletes in residence for the 2020 XPE NFL Combine Prep. This mentorship program has lead to the development of a national team that works with professional, Olympic, and elite collegiate athletes. Sports Medicine departments of both college and professional teams have already hired current members of the XPECORE Sports Bodywork National Team. Several of our team members are also involved with Olympic teams and attended the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Each week eight (8) massage therapists will be selected to attend the mentorship and will learn the CORE Sports & Performance Bodywork protocols that have been developed over the past 35 years by George Kousaleos. This year we have included education in Functional Stretch Therapy, developed by Michael Watts. From early each morning until mid-afternoon, the participating therapists will learn full-body and region-specific techniques and protocols that have been successfully used for a wide range of athletes. Each afternoon will have a 3-hour time frame for the clinical work on the football athletes in attendance at XPE Sports.
The tuition cost for the program is $2200 ($100 discount if application is received by October 31, 2020. The tuition includes 48 CEs approved through the NCBTMB and the Florida Board of Massage Therapy, a 2-hour educational DVD on CORE Myofascial Therapy, a team shirt, and daily lunches.
Accommodations are not included in the tuition, but the Courtyard Marriott of Boca Raton is our team hotel and offers a discounted rate for singles or doubles. This rate includes breakfast, and will be available to all participants once accepted into the mentorship.
The two closest airports are Ft Lauderdale International and West Palm Beach International. The team hotel is halfway between these airports adjacent to I-95 at the Glades Road exit in Boca Raton. The Tri-County Rail commuter train can be taken from either airport to Boca Raton (20 to 30 minutes).
